The Starbucks Horchata Frappuccino copycat recipe is easy to make at home in less than 15 minutes.
well nowadays, look what we ’ ve got – another new swallow from the fine folks at Starbucks. now this one is amazing. I am a big fan of the swallow horchata. Horchata has many origins and many varieties. The drink is of Mexican, spanish and/or romance american origin, depending on who you ask. Horchata is besides made with barley, rice and/or almonds, again, depending on who you ask .
The direction I understand and have been taught to make horchata is to soak farseeing grain white rice for a few hours in water, then remove the rice and mix the remaining rice water with milk, cinnamon, vanilla and sugar .
I actually had my beginning horchata at a place called Foxy Loxy Cafe in Savannah. It is immediately a tradition that I have a horchata there the few times a class I am in Savannah. now, I don ’ deoxythymidine monophosphate know how their version is made, I just know it is cinnamon-y and delightful. Foxy Loxy serves it as a coffee drink in, mixing the horchata with black chocolate.
I have been enjoying the Foxy Loxy version for years, and now here comes Starbucks with their Frappuccino version. now did you know the global celebrated PSL ( Pumpkin Spice Latte ) doesn ’ t actually control pumpkin in it ? With that being said, the Horchata Frappuccino besides does not contain any actual horchata in it. The Frappuccino is merely flavored like a horchata – with the main season being cinnamon. not that I am complaining, it is so adept. For my copycat recipe, I started by making a cinnamon dolce bare syrup. Starbucks keeps this syrup on hired hand for their Cinnamon Dolce Latte and the Caramel Apple Spice Cider. Making the simple syrup is well….simple. equal parts sugar and water with a healthy apprehension of background cinnamon .
The Frappuccino itself is slightly more involved – I use the strongest black coffee I can find ( or brew ) so that the chocolate season doesn ’ t get lost against the cinnamon. then add almond milk, the cinnamon simpleton syrup and ice. I add a fiddling sugared condensed milk precisely to thicken the consistency but if you are opting for the Vegan version, leave the sweetened condensed milk out .
I besides added whipped cream to mine ( more for the pictures than anything else ) but again, if going for a Vegan adaptation, find some Vegan whipped cream or good leave it out .
One concluding important note – freeze coffee in an internal-combustion engine cube tray and use 1 cup of freeze coffee cubes alternatively of using regular water ice. The beverage will be stronger so you may want to add a little more of the cinnamon dolce syrup ( possibly 1 tbsp. ) so the cinnamon doesn ’ triiodothyronine get lost in the coffee season .

Starbucks Horchata Frappuccino copycat recipe

The official copycat recipe for the new Starbucks Horchata Frappuccino .
For the cinnamon dolce syrup:
- 1 cup light brown sugar, or coconut palm sugar
- 1 cup filtered water
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
For the Frappuccino:
- 1 1/2 cup brewed black coffee
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/4 cup cinnamon dolce syrup
- 2 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk, optional for thicker consistency- leave out if making Vegan version
- 1 cup ice **see note
- ground cinnamon, caramel sauce, and whipped cream, for garnish
Make the cinnamon dolce simple syrup:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, add the brown sugar and filtered water. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, about 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon.
- Set aside to cool.
Make the Frappuccino:
- In a blender, add the brewed coffee, 1 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup cinnamon syrup and 1 cup ice.
- Blend until well mixed.
- Pour into a tall serving glass.
- Top with whipped cream, drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle ground cinnamon for garnish.
- Serve immediately.
**for a stronger coffee bean season, freeze coffee into methamphetamine cubes for use alternatively of using obviously water ice.
